The Kelantan Football Association (Malay: Persatuan Bolasepak Kelantan) enters a team in Malaysian football competitions to represent the state of Kelantan. The team is based in the city of Kota Bharu. They are currently playing in the top division in Malaysian football, the Malaysia Super League. Their home stadium is Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium.




HISTORY

The team won the Malaysia Cup in 2010,Malaysian League Division II title in 2000, and finished runners-up in the Malaysia Cup in 1955, 1970 and 2009

During the 2007-08 season, Kelantan FA had their large supporter attendance improved with home stadium, the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium packed during the home games. It also boost a considerably high attendance at away games. The results are seen as Kelantan FA were unbeatable at home during the Premier League Malaysia 2007 season. Kelantan FA only home loss of the season was to Super League Malaysia side Terengganu FA during the 2007-08 Malaysia Cup which Kelantan FA lost 0-1.


Butler era

Under Haris Harun's helm, Kelantan FA home side went unbeaten in the 2008-09 season until a venue irregularities had a home result lost by default by the Football Association of Malaysia. The game between Kelantan FA and KL PLUS FC was awarded 3-0 to KL PLUS FC as Kelantan FA could not agree on a suitable venue. However the result was then revoked and the game would be replayed at a later date 

On April 7, Kelantan FA's goalkeeper, Mohd Halim Napi was suspended for punching and stepping on Negeri Sembilan FA's defender, Aidil Zafuan during Malaysia FA Cup 2009 semi-final first-leg match. As a result of the incident, Kelantan FA have been slapped with a total fine of RM900,000 and the Sultan Mohammad V Stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan has been suspended as a venue for all matches sanctioned by Football Association of Malaysia until the end of the year. 


Malaysia Cup

Kelantan much awaited 89-year drought of Malaysia Cup ended in 2010 at National Stadium, Bukit Jalil on 30 October. They come from behind 2-1 win over Negeri Sembilan. Badri Radzi was the hero for the east coast side when he struck the winner in the 65th minute. Kelantan's victorious coach B. Satianathan is refusing to commit his future to the newly crowned Malaysia Cup champions as he awaits the result of an appeal against a six-month ban.

STADIUM
Kelantan FA are currently based at Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The capacity of the stadium is 25,000. This has been Kelantan FA's ground since 1957.


New stadium

The Kelantan FA's new stadium will be under construction soon in Bukit Merbau, Pasir Putih. It has been proposed and agreed by the Kelantan state government. The capacity of the new stadium is 40,000. The sports complex will eventually become a sports city where mixed development will take place on the 60ha land approved by the executive councilors 


SPONSORSHIP
  • For season running from 1984 to 2003, Dunhill was club's first shirt sponsor. However, it ended after tobacco sponsorship was banned in Malaysian football.
  • Malaysia's telco, TM is the new shirt sponsors from season 2004 to 2010.
  • In 2010 season, the main sponsors are Alhamra Group, Yusmira Trading, Sinar Harian, Air Asia and TM. Their logo is labeled on the club jersey.
  • The club's kit manufacturer in 2008 was Nike which lasted for a year. In 2009, Sportzone a local manufacturer took charge. Ever since 2010,Umbro is the current manufacturer.
  • In 2011, the club's kit manufacturer is Umbro and the main sponsors are Al-Hamra Group, Yusmira Trading, Sinar Harian, TRW Station, AL-JABBAR, and Happy Prepaid Company, where the labels will appear on the team jerseys
